The Advantages Of LiFi Internet

By Kimberly Harris

Over the past few years, there have been quite a number of changes in the wireless technology. These changes have made it possible to do business at the coffee shop as if you are still in the office. People are able to hold meetings with their clients while they are still in their own living rooms. This can be attributed to the use of wireless connections such as Wi-Fi. Recent developments in the technology have enabled data to be transferred by use of light. This light can be visible or ultraviolet. This technology is called LiFi internet and has a number of advantages as discussed below.

One of the main advantages of this technology is the high speeds of data transmission. Speed is everything when it comes to transferring data. Users do not like slow connections where they have to wait for minutes or hours for data to be transferred or communication to be successful. With this networking technology, users are able to enjoy very high speeds of data transmission. This technology is 100 times faster than Wi-Fi. This offers better communication everywhere.

LiFi is cost effective in a number of ways. When setting it up, cable installation is not required. You do not need to connect all the rooms in the office via cables. This technology uses LED light bulbs which are the same ones used for lighting purposes. This ensures that there are no extra costs incurred during installation.

In the wireless technology industry, security has been a major concern for everyone. This network offers secure connections which is what every user desires. A network is only available to people who are within the room that the bulb serves. This is because light does not go through opaque objects which includes walls. People outside the room cannot access the new which means there will be no unauthorized access to the network. This level of security is what makes this connection better than Wi-Fi.

LiFi technology is very efficient in a number of ways especially when it comes to power consumption. This is because it uses LED bulbs. Every house or office already have these bulbs installed for lighting purposes. These bulbs are the same ones that will be used to transfer data. If lights must be off, then the bulbs are turned for the human eye but can still transmit data. Also, power consumption is minimal because there is no additional hardware required unlike when installing Wi-Fi where routers must be installed also.

This connection is available everywhere across the world as long as there is light. LED light bulbs are available in a lot of places all over the world. They are also available in planes and ships. This means it easy to establish communication even when you are in remote areas of the world.

There are places where common transmissions and frequencies cannot be used to transfer data because they may lead to dangerous effects. Such areas mostly include chemical and petroleum plants. This connectivity is safe to use in such areas. This helps to improve communication and data transfers within the plants which in turn efficiency in the companies.

More developments and features are being added to this technology every day to enhance its efficiency. While it still has a number of setbacks, it stands as a better option compared to Wi-Fi mostly due to the high speeds and its availability.
