How To Meet A Nintendo Fanatic Online Friend In IRL

By Claudine Hodges

As a gamer, it is only natural to be active in on-line groups that deal with the types of online game that you love. This is the place where you get to meet a lot of people who have the same likes as you. It is also a place where you can speak about the same topics without running out of things to say to those individuals who are similar to you.

Nowadays, there are a lot of groups online that are catering to those who are into gaming and stuff. It should not be a difficult task for you to find other Nintendo fanatic through these groups. You can then find more friends than you can imagine. Through these groups, you can talk about games that you are too familiar with.

When you have been in this group for a long time, it will be high time for you to be invited for an IRL meeting. The said meeting is when you will meet up with those friends you made in the Internet. To those who are asked to attend the said meeting, here are a few of the tips that you should take into consideration.

First, you have to make sure to agree to meet up in a safe place. Preferably, you should only agree if the venue is a public place. This is for your own safety. Out of the many options you have for a venue where online friends can meet up, the most suitable choice is the local restaurant.

Do not hesitate to bring a friend to the said meeting. You can ask for the permission of the one in charge of the IRL meeting for that too. The friend that you bring should not be someone who can ruin the mood of this meeting. This is also a way to ensure your safety when you are meeting your online friends.

While you are expecting your online associate to not be creepy during this first meeting in real life, you should not be creepy yourself. You should not give off the impression of creepiness, especially during this first meeting. If possible, try to lay off on those jokes and acts that will give off a creepy impression to your friends.

Listen to your guts. If your guts is telling you that the person you are about to meet is someone who is fishy, then you can just decline the invitation to meet up in real life. You should not be afraid to say no because you really do not know them that well. There is no worry of offending them then.

Do your research first before you agree to meeting others online in real life or before you go to the meeting. It will help you determine whether it is really okay or not to meet up with this person. The things you learn about the said person will also help you start a conversation during this meeting.

The things that you talk about with these new friends should be limited to what is okay to say to them. You have to keep a tight lid on some personal information, as a precaution as well. You should only be talking about things which are okay to be talked about with strangers.
